Dr. Ron Perrenoud
The quarters go by so quickly and we are approaching the spring time of the year and I would like to wish all the students, parents, faculty and staff a safe and restful spring break. We are quickly approaching spring and looking forward to our students going into the final three months of the school year. Congratulations go out to our students that have experienced success in the Winter Sports, Scholastic tournaments and recently our Drama Students did an excellent job with their play. A special congratulation goes out to the wrestlers and their first ever District Championship and to TJ Thacker taking State now for two years in a row! Also a special congratulation goes out to our girls’ varsity basketball team and their 3rd Place trophy at the recent State tournament. As well as our varsity cheerleaders for taking a first place at their recent completion! There are so many good things happening and it is fun watching the successes of our students. I know there are many activities going on including pageants, track season and our BPA & FFA student’s competitions. We have some pretty amazing and talented people throughout the entire school system. I would like to encourage everyone to get out and vote on the upcoming supplemental levy that will be held on March 12, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The school board has worked hard to see that everyone understands the reasons for the supplemental levy and tried to answer questions about what effect the levy will have if passed or if not passed. There will be an informational meeting held on March 6, 2013 in the Elementary/Middle School Auditorium and everyone is welcome to come and find out more on this important event. Hope to see you at the meeting and more importantly that you will get out and vote. As our students work toward finishing up the 2012-2013 school year there will be more assessments given to measure the progress and academic achievement of our students. The high school students will be taking the SAT test and the ISAT test as will the 3-8th grade students, who will be tested on the ISAT. We also have been selected as a pilot school for the new Smarter Balanced Assessment which will be taking the place of the ISAT test in the spring of 2015. Our 8th grade students have been selected to take this pilot assessment and we wish them the very best as they take all of these assessments that are required by the State Department of Education. The next few months will be extremely busy for everyone and before you know it we will be getting ready to finish up the year and looking forward to the summer break. Thank you for your continued support of the Ririe School District and for the efforts to provide the very best education possible for our amazing students. Have a great Spring break and a great spring. Sincerely, Dr. Ron Perrenoud Superintendent/2nd-8th grade Principal
